Roasting Marshmallows

One of the exciting things that we had planned for this trip was roasting marshmallows. This might seem pretty ordinary to some folks, but our children have never had marshmallows, let alone roasted them! So, it was something they were super excited about!
Well, the fire didn't quite work out like we planned. Everything was a bit wet, and Rich couldn't get a good fire going, but we made the best out of it. As soon as the flame came up, we stuck the marshmallow in before the flame died again.
The verdict - Martin loves marshmallows. Aaron and Jonathan thought they were disgusting. Rosalie was in bed sleeping through it all.

  1. My two aren't crazy about marshmallows either, but I love them, especially roasted! What a fun night and memory making experience!

PS. Had so much fun at the park today! And I think it is safe to say that we survived and handled all 8 kids pretty well, even though we were seriously outnumbered:) We'll have to do it again!

  2. mmmm...marshmellow roasting!! thats one of my favorite things to do when we go camping! Next time if it is wet when you want to do some roasting just use a candle! It takes a little longer but still tastes the same! :0)
