We experienced some pretty scary storms last Saturday. We don't have a basement, so we prepared by sitting in our hallway downstairs. The children and I played a game while waiting for the storm to pass. We were planning to move into the laundry room if any tornadoes headed our way. There were tornadoes to the south of us and to the north of us. Many people across our state endured and are enduring devastating results from those storms. We are and have been praying for those affected. I've never really been through a real tornado "scare" before. I've lived through blizzards in Iceland, hurricanes on the coast of VA, but never a tornado. I have to say ... for me ... tornadoes win it for scary.
Hopefully, our state will stay clear of any more scary storm systems this year!

So thankful you guys are okay. When Penn told me what was happening on Saturday, I was soooo thankful to not be living there. Tornados are very scary.
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely scary! Games are a good way to pass the time though!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog recently by searching for Heart of Dakota and blog. We are going to begin using them next year (I am very excited) and wanted to read some real life accounts of how it was working.
Anyhow, I enjoy your blog and was glad to hear how much you like HOD.
We also had tornado warnings recently (in WI) but it was late and everyone was a little sleepy. We will have to remember games next time (Sorry is a family favorite in our home, as well).
God Bless,
Heather
I am so glad that you posted, Heather! We have been using HOD for 2 years now ... and I absolutely love it! It has been a huge blessing and I plan on staying with HOD long term! I hope that you love it as much as I do!
